Ms. Eliese

Owner/Director

 

Ms. Eliese is the owner and director of DANCE by Eliese. After numerous years of teaching dance in Northwest Arkansas, Eliese Freeman launched DANCE by Eliese in the fall of 2013. Through DANCE by Eliese, Eliese offered ballroom dance lessons and social dancing events to help raise money and awareness for the community. In June 2014, Eliese opened the doors to her first studio, located off of Wedington Drive in Fayetteville, Arkansas. 

 

Ms. Eliese’s passion for dance was apparent at an early age; she started dancing in her mother’s studios before she was old enough to talk! After Ms. Eliese’s mother closed her studios, Ms. Eliese continued her dance education with the Judith McCarty School of Dancing in Texas. Under Ms. Judy’s direction, Ms. Eliese studied classical ballet, theatrical jazz, broadway and rhythm tap, Spanish dancing and clogging. After moving to Northwest Arkansas, Ms. Eliese continued her dance education in the styles of classical ballet, tap, jazz and Spanish dancing. As an adult, Ms. Eliese has trained within the states of Arkansas, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Michigan. Additionally, Ms. Eliese has received training from Dr. Kathleen Tenniswood-Powell (Maestro Cecchetti Diploma, Doctor of Dance and Related Arts, Examiner Cecchetti Council of America), Renata Sanford (Examiner Cecchetti Council of America, Broadway Musical Performer and Choreographer, Former Director of Austin Ballet Theatre), Judith McCarty (Founder of Judith McCarty School of Dancing, former President of the Texas Association of Teachers of Dancing, Chairman of the Board of Examiners TATD), Susan Mayes (M.E. Physical Education, State Awarded Dance and Gymnastics Coach, Instructor – University of Arkansas), as well as classes with various other masters of the arts.

Ms. Eliese has performed, competed and adjudicated in several areas of performing arts including vocal, instrumental, dance, musical theatre, acting and baton twirling. Ms. Eliese performed multiple times with the Texarkana Community Ballet and danced in the World Premiere of “The Nutcracker” with the Tulsa Ballet Company under the direction of Artistic Director Marcello Angolini. Ms. Eliese has performed in and been a guest choreographer in several productions including various scenes of The Nutcracker: Ballet Class (student), Overture and Party Scene (female child, female child, male child, adult, harlequin/doll, choreographer, choreographer), Battle Scene (mouse, choreographer), Snow (snowflake, choreographer), Land of the Sweets (candy cane), Snow White (Snow White) and Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora).

 

Ms. Eliese is a qualified Associate Member of Cecchetti Council America and serves as the Treasurer for the Southwest Committee of the Cecchetti Council of America. She is also an Acrobatic Arts Certified Member and a Functional Movement Technique Certified Movement Professional. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Ballet Arkansas, the states foremost Profession Ballet Performing Company. Ms. Eliese is certified in adult and pediatric First Aid, AED and CPR. She also holds Instructor Certifications through Dance Educators of America in the areas of Classical Ballet, Tap Dance, Classical and Contemporary Jazz Dance, Modern Dance, Theatrical Acrobatics, Anatomy for Injury Prevention and Music Theory. Ms. Eliese’s teaching experience includes acting as a Guest Teacher in several studios in Arkansas, Instructor of Ballet and Social Ballroom Dancing through Instructional Programs at the University of Arkansas and Member Teacher and Scholarship Auditioner with The Southwest Committee of the Cecchetti Council of America. Ms. Eliese’s students include dance teachers in Arkansas and Missouri, Arkansas Scholarship Pageant Title Holders and undergraduates in various performing arts colleges in Chicago, New York, St. Louis and Austin.

 

In her spare time, Ms. Eliese enjoys fostering dogs through the MAK German Shorthair Pointer Rescue, paddling down Arkansas rivers and reading in her hammock.

 

 

 

 

Ms. Robbie

Cecchetti Ballet, Baton Twirling

 

 

Ms. Robbie, ballet and baton twirling instructor for DANCE by Eliese, has trained in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Michigan and London, England under certifying parties of Dance Masters of America, Dance Caravan, Cecchetti Council of America and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Ms. Robbie owned two dance studios in Southwest Arkansas before returning to school to attain her MA in Mathematics. After ultimately retiring from a career in teaching in public schools, Ms. Robbie has returned to teaching dance and we couldn't be more excited!

 

 

Ms. Olivia

Acrobatic Dance, Jazz, Introductory Dance

 

Ms. Olivia joined the DANCE by Eliese staff in 2017, but has been a part of the family since the beginning. Ms. Olivia teaches Jazz, Introductory Dance and Acrobatic Dance. She holds her Acrobatic Arts Module 1 Teacher Certification, has trained as a student in Cecchetti Ballet and is continually training to further herself as a dance educator.

 

 

Ms. Kylie

Music Theatre, Jazz, Tap

 

Ms. Kylie hails from Winfield, Kansas, where she spent lots of time singing to the cows on her family's farm. She decided to pursue a career in musical theatre and went to Oklahoma City University where she earned a BFA in Acting and a BA in Music. She then went on to receive a Masters in Music with an emphasis in Musical Theatre from the University of Central Oklahoma. Since then, she has had the privilege to perform in various roses such as Eponine in Les Mis, Cinderella in Into The Woods, Martha in The Secret Garden, and Esther in Meet Me In St. Louis. Kylie also spent the last year performing at Silver Dollar City as Georgia in Frontier Follies, Mary in Unto Us A Child Is Born, and as a swing for Hits at the Hollow. When she's not performing, Kylie enjoys passing on her passion for the arts by teaching dance and vocal lessons. She believes that through honest and communicative storytelling, the world can become a more hopeful, loving, inclusive and unified place.

   

 

 

 

 

Ms. Kendal

Baton Twirling

 

 

 

 Ms. Kendal began twirling at the age of 5 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She is an award winning baton twirler at the state, regional and national levels. She is currently Co-Captain of the Arkansas Razorbacks Majorette Line and a junior studying business. As a student, Ms. Kendal also studied Cecchetti Ballet, knowing the importance of a technical dance foundation. Ms. Kendal and Ms. Robbie and heading our Baton Twirling classes and Ms. Kendal is available to work with students interested in competing with Baton Twirling or auditioning for High School and College lines. 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Franco

Hip Hop Workshops

 

 

 

 

Franco Baleto has been a street dancer his entire life. Born in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Franco grew up break-dancing and competing in talent shows and battles. Following in the footsteps of Barry YoungBlood, Mr. Franco began dancing GDDS. He strives to encourage his students to open up and feel the music. Gathering attention with his show stopping mohawk, Franco enters a room and never leaves a stranger. he credits his performance with the "American Idols Live" in Branson, Missouri as one of the most inspiring moments of his life. In addition to teaching Hip Hop and performing, Franco works as a volunteer for the Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club. 

 

 

 

 

 

Ms. Natalie

Ballet Teaching Apprentice

 

 

 

  Ms. Natalie is a native to Fayetteville and attends Fayetteville High School. She is currently a teacher in training through our apprenticeship program. As a dancer, Natalie has trained in the student levels of Cecchetti Ballet and plans to begin the Professional Elementary level in the Fall of 2021. Ms. Natalie has been accepted to and attended summer training programs including the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive, Ballet Arkansas Junior Intensive and Cecchetti Council of America's International Ballet Summer School.
