Frequently Asked Questions - DBE

We hate that you sometimes have to miss a class, but it can be very distracting for other students to have an unfamiliar face drop in. At DANCE by Eliese, we keep classes small and try very hard to continue 1-on-1 attention for all students. In order for classes to stay on task and moving forward, consistency is key.

Dress Code varies depending on the style of dance you will be learning. On our class information page, appropriate dress is outline for each dance style.

You do not need to come with a partner to take a class or lesson. We will rotate partners regularly during group class so you will have plenty of opportunities to enhance your skills with various partners whether you are leading or following. For private lessons, it is not necessary to bring a partner, just let us know beforehand so we can be prepared.

Absolutely not! At DANCE by Eliese, we cater to your ability level and will only push you to advance at a reasonable speed for you.

This depends on each individual’s goals and level of commitment. We will work with you to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Ultimately, it depends on you, but we are certain that you will be thrilled with your newly acquired skills after your first day of dancing.

We recommend our children’s classes for anyone from age 3 to 18 and our adult classes to anyone from 16 and beyond. There is a bit of an overlap in ages, as we offer classes to both experienced students and beginners.

Our ballroom dance courses will prepare you to be able to ask anybody to join you on a social dance floor or club. Our other classes help you with body awareness and skill needed to help you be confident on and off the dancefloor.

Dancing has numerous well rounded benefits. The physical activity is great for your posture, flexibility, strength and cardio fitness. The structured environment at DANCE by Eliese promotes skills in listening and cognitive development all while having a blast in a fun atmosphere!

Private lessons are great way to reach your goals with one on one instruction from your teacher. Some of our students take private lessons to brush up on things they are learning in their group classes. Others take private lessons to prepare for a special event such as a wedding, showcase, or talent show. Many students also take private lessons to prepare for competitions that occur throughout the year. The number of private lessons you take during a week will depend on your specific goals. Your teacher will help you in planning the optimal schedule.

We are happy to let you try a class so that we can assess your skills and help you determine which class is best for you. For young dancers, we prefer to start in lower class and promote them into higher levels to avoid disappointment that may come from starting off in too advanced of a class and having to be demoted to a different class.
