La Scoula Ballet is the Pre-Professional Ballet training program at DANCE by Eliese. Classes in La Scoula Ballet include levels for ages 8+ in ballet, pointe work, progressing ballet technique, strengthening and flexibility. Students are selected for this program based on the their potential and readiness to begin in this training method. Scoula, Italian for school, pays homage to Enrico Cecchetti, an Italian ballet dancer, mime and creator of the Cecchetti Method of Ballet. Students enrolled in La Scoula Ballet are expected to work towards and complete ballet exams in the Cecchetti Method and enroll in and attend multiple ballet classes per week.
Ballet is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements. We follow the Cecchetti syllabus in ballet to ensure that our students progress safely through the different levels of ballet dancing. Cecchetti training is a rigorous method which pays careful attention to the laws of anatomy. It develops all of the qualities essential to the dancer: balance, poise, strength, elevation, elasticity, “ballon”, etc. It is classic in its purity and clear-cut style.
